Judges in Sierra Leone undertook a three days training organized by Attorney General Alliance Africa (AGA Africa Programme)in partnership with the Judiciary of Sierra Leone on the theme ‘Fostering Peaceful, Credible and Inclusive Elections in Sierra Leone. The training seeks to strengthen the judiciary’s ability to handle electoral disputes and its ability to deliver justice.
Continuing with its expansion of routine vaccination in Sierra Leone, the Ministry of Health received 230 solar refrigeration units and two new vehicles as a further boost towards zero vaccine preventable deaths.
President Bio’s energy transformation continues to expand as officials made a site visit to the Bekongor hydro dam project. For over fifty years, the hydro potential of the Bekongor water fall has seen the light of the day as President Bio approved for its construction and parliament ratifying it. When completed, it will provide 120 megawatts of hydropower for the country.

Parliament began debating the 2023 Basic and Senior Secondary Education Bill. Some pertinent issues in the Bill are; a person shall not construct a
school without authorization, a person shall not establish or operate a private school unless he/she satisfies the requirements and policy guidelines on school approvals established by the Ministry, Government shall support one year free compulsory pre-school education when a child reaches the age of 5 years and corporal punishment and all other forms of degrading punishment designed to cause, or create fear or physical pain in a pupil is prohibited among several others.
President Julius Maada Bio was on a tour again meeting his people in places where former presidents have never visited. During his tour, President Bio turns sod for the construction of a 121.5meter 2 lane single carriageway Bridge Masingbi-Gendema costing $ 8.4 million with funds provided by world bank and the Government Sierra Leone
Minister of Water Resources Ing. Philip Karimu Lansana held fruitful discussions with his Hungarian counterpart, including investors and other officials. The two ministers discussed the proposed Koidu/Kono water project, which is expected to benefit thousands of people. There were discussions also on the need for Hungary to explore opportunities on investments and to further see that advancements are made in the water sector.
Sierra Leonean Muslims joined the rest of the Muslim ummah in completing the holy month of Ramadan and observing Eidul- Fitr on Friday, April 21, in peace and harmony.
In his message on Eidul Fitr, His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio extended best wishes to the Muslim ummah and prayed that Allah continue to preserve Sierra Leone as a beacon of hope and a shining example of religious harmony across the world. He said the extraordinary contribution of Muslims in advancing peace, tolerance, and progress is important for Sierra Leone’s economic development and social progress.
