Chernor Jalloh a business man made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on a count of possession of prohibited drugs without lawful authority contrary to section 8 (a) of the national drug control Act 2008, Act No.10 2008.

According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 30th October 2024at Yokie Lane off Gassama Street, Calaba Town the western area in Freetown was found in possession of two hundred and thirty-six (236) grosses of Tramadol without lawful authority.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded guilty.

The prosecutor Sergeant 8811 Florence M Wilson told the bench that fact as charge with no previous records against the accused person.

The defense counsel M.L Sesay made a plea mitigation on behalf of the accused person.

Due to the plea mitigation Magistrate Bangura sentenced the accused person to five years’ imprisonment or pay a fine of three thousand Leones which would only be paid if the convict commits any offence of this nature within two years.
