Possession of  offensive weapon: Gardener Remanded

31yrs old Salieu Conteh a  gardener made another appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on four court charges to wit Carrying offensive weapon without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, two count of Loitering with intent, Disobeying curfew.

According to the particulars of offence on Thursday 11th August 2022 at Presidential State Lodge Hill station the western area in Freetown was found carrying offensive weapons in a public place without lawful authority or reasonable excuse to wit one old cutlass and knife on count two the accused person was found loitering with intent to commit a felony on count three the accused person Disobeying curfew from 12 midnight to 6am.

The charges were read and explained to the accused person on his first appearance and he pleaded not guilty.

Sergeant 9155 Dwight Macarthy Led Second Prosecution witness (PW2) Sergeant 8576 Issa Kamara attached to the exhibit office at the Criminal Investigation Department CID  headquarters Pademba Road Freetown. His duties is to register and keep all exhibits related to matters that has been brought for investigation.

On the 11th August 2022 Sergeant Kamara S.I attached to the Criminal Investigation unit handed over to him one old cutlass and one old knife with a green handle which was registered in the court exhibit book against serial number RCE120/2022. Since then it was in the custody of the police the said exhibit was produced and tendered in court to form part of the court records.

The prosecutor told the bench that it’s the case for the prosecution.

Magistrate Ngegba refused bail and adjourned the matter to the 18th November 2022 for further hearing.
