PORTS General Manager Commends SLRSA Acting Executive Director

The General Manager, Sierra Leone Ports Authority Dr. Abdulai Fofanah on Tuesday January 18, 2022 commended James Baggie Bio, the acting Executive Director SLRSA for his proactive Administrative initiatives in restoring sanity on our roads.

Dr. Abdulai Fofanah during a courtesy call at his Cline Town office at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay said, SLRSA Management under the new direction had been doing extremely well in curbing lawlessness on our roads. He said, he was pleased seeing the team during the festivities conducting on the spot checks, this according to him discouraged the level of drunk driving and lawlessness on our roads.

Dr. Fofanah however said, he was looking forward to a possible collaboration with the acting Executive Director and team to ensure Haulage vehicles using the Ports facility adhere to all safety measures set by SLRSA.

In his response, James Baggie Bio thanked the Ports General Manager for his institution’s support over the years. Noting that SLRSA is willing to partner with any sister institution to support the SLRSA in its drive to restore the much anticipated sanity on our roads and render them free from road Crashes.

In another development, Personnel from the Safety and Enforcement Department with Support from the Transport Department in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Police as part of the Authority’s routine checks on Haulage vehicles at the Ports conducted safety checks to send Notice of Prohibition to owners of vehicles that are deemed unfit to ply the roads.

This was spearheaded by the Director of Safety and Enforcement Chief Route Commander Augustine Kaitongi and was monitored by the Head of Communications and Outreach Abdul Karim Dumbuya.
