The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Kono District newly elected Chairman; Safea L. Moiwo has told this medium that poor leadership is responsible for the apparent unsatisfactory operations of the Energy Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) including the Energy Generation and Transmission Company (EGTC) in the municipality of Koidu.
Chairman Moiwo made the statement in an interview with our reporter on his take on the alleged undue and unacceptable refusal of the management of the aforementioned institutions to update members of the public especially electricity consumers in the City through the Traditional media on factors responsible for the persistence outages of electricity supply in Koidu City.
On behalf of the ruling SLPP government, the Kono District SLPP Chairman, Safea Moiwo registered frustration over the recent destruction on the Main Transformer at the old Power House and the substation at the 555 Spot Community thereby leaving the city in total blackout.
According to the Local Unit Commander (LUC) Superintendent Franklyn Mbawoh, at least six suspects including two private officers and four EDSA Senior staff have been arrested and detained at the Tankoro Police Station, who are helping them in their on-going investigations into the reported destruction and theft matters of EDSA and EGTC materials.
