Some residents of Bo have said that they will show exit the door to some politicians who have deliberately failed to exhibit transparency and accountability in their stewardship before the 24 June 2023, slated for the general elections.
Speaking to this medium in a down beat mood, some residents of Bo said that they are disappointed in some of their councilors and MPs who were elected as they have woefully failed to be accountable in their stewardship.
“I will not disclose my ward and constituency where I am staying in Bo District, but trust me some of our councilors and MPs did not measure up to our expectations. I voted for my MP and Councilor base on the manifestoes presented to us but not even 20% of their campaign promises were fulfilled”, According to Suzan Jusu.
Madam Jusu said that most of these MPs and Councilors are being covered by the President Bio’s manifesto but we know what they promised us.
“We are not fools. It is high time they become accountable to us and ensure that they fulfill their promises or else we will show them the exit door”, she complained.
Tommy Kaindeh, another resident of Bo said that I want the politicians to know that they day of reckoning will come, as they are waiting for the 24 June 2023.
He thanked president Bio for showing the date for the election through the Electoral Commission.
President Bio he said has done his own work and in terms of accountability he is on track because, going to the Radio and talking to the people is a high level of accountability but according to him for some MPs and councilors it is all about self-interest but the ballot is there to speak for us.
Kaindeneh said that they are not going to use the barrel to fire them but our votes are more potent to fight for us. “We were waiting for the D-day to come. We will not allow politicians to use us to perpetuate violence at the detriment of the people to suffer. We do not need violence but accountability from politicians before the 2023 elections”, she explained.
Reacting, some of the Councilors and MPS in Bo District said that it is difficult to satisfy the electorates but they are fully convinced that they have tried their best to display accountability in their stewardship
