Sergeant Matthew Jibao Karim Vangahun attached to the Homicide Office, at the Criminal Investigation Department has said during a search in the vehicle stolen by the accused Michael Justice James Kanneh, they saw syringes loaded with substance suspected to be acid and other items.
The accused in the above action is before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 for allegedly murdered of husband and wife, Yatunde Wilson and Sinneh Fofanah formerly of the same address.
On Sunday 5th April 2021, one Mary Foyoh of Femi Turner Dive gave the police information in respect of vehicle with registration number AOE 300, that was stolen at No.10 Tucker Drive on the date of the incident.
He said on receiving the information, he was with some officers from Lumley police station who went to grass field, where Mary Foyoh directed the team where the vehicle was taken to.
On arrival at the compound, he said he spoke to Mary Foyoh about how the vehicle was conveyed and responded that the vehicle was in possession of the accused, Michael Justice James Kanneh.
Explaining to the court, the witness said he asked for the accused and Mary told him he fled by jumping over the fence.
He said there after he examined the vehicle with ASP Mondeh and in the process find two syringes suspected to be loaded with acid, bunches of keys, other items including the documents of the vehicle, clothes and shoes belonging to the deceased Sinneh Fofanah.
In continuation of his testimony, the police witness said on that same date they were led to Kanigo, the resident of the accused person were a search was conducted and during the cause of search, some properties including cooking utensils, black suitcase, marriage glove and ladies bag were discovered.
He produced the search warrant and tenders it to form part of the prosecution’s case.
The witness there after the aforementioned items were taken to CID and photos were taken of the wrecked vehicle.
He said the exhibits were handed over to Detective Inspector Nathaniel Williams (now deceased) for record and safe keeping.
The witness promised to identify the said items if the court permits him. He said on 28th April 2021, the accused was arrested and brought in by a team of police officers from Lumley police office for the crime he is before the court.
He said he was in the company of DPC 14345 Conteh M to interview the accused. He said on the 30th of April 2021, they obtained final statement from the accused.
On 3r of May 2021, he was in the company of other officers, the accused and Mary Foyoh went to reconstruct the scene. There the accused narrated how he used a mortar pestle at the kitchen to kill Sinneh Fofanah and Yatunde Wilson. The accused also identify to the team the window where he removed a white wardrobe with iron he used to wrap both deceased. The witness said there after the mortar pestle was treated as exhibit and taken to the CID HQ, handed to the exhibit clerk for safe keeping.
He said the accused later gave the police information about one Peter who according to him assisted him committing the offense and taken the stolen items from the house.
The police stated to the court that the accused gave him information about someone he took to the property. He was conveyed to one Bashiru Mustapha at Colligate Road.
On the 5th of May 2021, a team of police officers went to the above scene in search of several properties concerning this matter.
Upon reaching this point, magistrate Sahr Kekura adjourned the matter to the 9th of August 2021for continuation.
