Police Tenders Exhibit In Alleged Murder Matter

On Tuesday 7th February 2023, Police constable 1730 Mohamed S. Kamara attached to the exhibit office at Central police division has tendered exhibits in court in an ongoing matter between the State and Fredick Kallon.

He told Justice Amy Wright of the High Court that some of his duties as an exhibit clerk include registration of cases reported to the station, to ensure the safe keeping of all exhibits brought to the station and to tender them in court when needed.

He furthered that on the 1st February 2021 himself together with Inspector Kabba Kanu, Sergeant Fofanah were on duty when Detective Kamara F.B brought in one old broken fence stick with nails attached on it for registration and safe keeping.

He continues that the said exhibit was recorded in the court exhibit book with serial number 14/2021.

The said exhibit was tendered in court to form part of the evidence.

After his testimony, the witness was cross examined by Lawyer Ibrahim Bangura on behalf of the accused person.

However, Justice Amy Wright remanded the accused to the Male Correctional Center and adjourned the matter to Tuesday 21st February 2023 for further hearing.

The accused was before the court on one count of murder contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.

State prosecutor, V.E.A Kabia alleged that the accused on 31st January 2021 in Freetown murdered Abioseh Macaulay.
