Police Tenders Charge Statement For Alleged Malicious Damage

41yrs old David Kamara a Masoner and 33yrs old Aruna Jalloh a business man made another appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on five Count charges to wit Malicious damage, Riotous conduct, throwing missiles, threatening language and disorderly behavior

According to the particulars of offence on Saturday 10th December 2022 at Imatt Hill Station the western area in Freetown maliciously damage one wall fence  valued two hundred and forty thousand Leones(240,000).

 On count two the accused persons at the same place and date behaved in a riotous manner.

 On count three the accused persons were found throwing missiles at the residence of Alusine Sannoh Barrie.

 On count four the accused persons used threatening language against the said complainant with intent to provoke him to commit a breach of the peace.

 On count five the accused persons did behave in a disorderly manner.

The charges was read and explained to the accused persons no plea was taken.

Assistant Superintendent of police Ibrahim S Mansaray lead Prosecution witness number three Inspector Mohamed Kargbo attached to the Criminal Investigation Department Cid headquarters Pademba Road at the operation unit said he recognized the accused persons.

 He recalled on the 12th December 2022 whilst on duty a transfer case of inquiry files was transfered from the mountain division of an offence of riotous conduct, threatening language and other offences.

 The files contained statement from the complainant and witnesses.

 The matter was allocated to him for investigation on 22nd December 2022 a team of police officers headed by PC 2001 Kamara T arrested and brought in the accused persons.

 on the said date himself and Sub Inspector S Vandy obtained voluntary caution statement from the accused persons which they admitted to be true and correct by afflicting their right hand thumbprint witness Sub inspector S Vandy and he signed as the recorder since then the statement was been in his custody the said statement was produce and tendered in court to form part of the court records

On the 20th December 2022 himself and Sergeant 8321 Kamara A finally charged the accused persons with the offences they’re standing trial on

The accused persons were unrepresented by a legal counsel.

Meanwhile, Bail continues for both accused persons matter adjourned to the 8th March 2023.
