 Police officer attached to the Trans-Organized Crime Unit at Hasting Freetown, Sylvester M. Konneh has presented in court 38 parcel of dry leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa that were allegedly in the possession of the accused Nabieu Kamara. The witness testified before Magistrate Marke Ngegba in Freetown on the 26th February.

In his testimony, the Police Witness (PW 2) Sylvester M. Konneh said he was on duty when he received the exhibits that he kept in his custody. The witness said on 28th January, 2021 he was on duty when 15327 Bangura M handed to him 38 parcels dry leaves, suspected to be cannabis sativa which weighs Twenty-Two (22) kilograms and he registered them as 10/2021. He said the exhibits has been in his possession ever since.

The witness produced the 38 parcels dry leaves, suspected cannabis sativa and tendered them in court as exhibits.

The Police Witness further said that they apprehended a vehicle in which the Cannabis Sativa was loaded. He said the vehicle is parked at Port Loko. Magistrate Marke Ngegba has requested for the said vehicle to be in Court for the next adjourned date.

According to the charge sheet, it is alleged that the accuse person was in an unlawful possession of Cannabis Sativa contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone. Particular of Offence stated that on Wednesday, 20th January, 2021, at Mile 38 Check Point, in the Koya Chiefdom in Port Loko District in the Northern District of Sierra Leone, was found in possession of 38 parcels of Cannabis Sativa that weighs Twenty-Two (22) kilograms, without unlawful authority.

The accused person Nabieu Kamara is in court on one count of unlawful possession of Cannabis Sativa contrary to laws of Sierra Leone.

Inspector I.G.Fofanah is prosecuting the matter and Lawyer I. Turay is defending. The matter has been adjourned to the 3rd March.
