Detective Police Constable Thoronka K.K led the prosecution, presenting Prosecution Witness No. 2, DPC Mohamed A. Kamara, attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Hill Top Police Station.
DPC Kamara testified that, on June 15, 2025, he was assigned to investigate the robbery case after receiving reports from the three complainants. He issued a medical request form to Zainab Yeabu Kamara, which she later returned with a medical report this document was produced and tendered as evidence in court.
He also obtained statements from the complainants, which were tendered in court as part of the evidence. A team led by DPC Kamara, along with the complainants and the defendants, visited the crime scene at Regent Highway SS Camp, where Zainab Yeabu Kamara identified the location where she and two others (who are not before the court) were allegedly robbed by the defendants.
On the same day, June 15, 2025, DPC Kamara and DPC Conteh H obtained voluntary caution statements from both defendants, who were cautioned and questioned in Krio. The statements were recorded in English and later signed by the defendants after being read over and explained to them. The defendants admitted the statements as true by affixing their thumbprints.
The witness was cross-examined by the defence attorneys.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Fornah refused bail for the defendants, citing the seriousness of the charges. The case has been adjourned to October 15, 2025 for further proceedings.
