In a bold display of proactive policing, the Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Brima Kanneh, led an unannounced street decongestion exercise on Monday, August 11, 2025. The initiative aimed to clear Bo City’s busiest streets of unlawful obstructions, improving both safety and traffic flow.
The well-coordinated operation, code-named Operation Free Flow, targeted the removal of barriers and obstructions from public roads to ensure better mobility for both motorists and pedestrians.
Joined by Bo City Mayor, His Worship Kobba Musa, the operation focused on key commercial routes including Fenton Road, Bojon Street, Mahei Boima Road, and Kissi Town Road. Vehicle owners occupying critical road space were instructed to relocate their vehicles, while informal street sellers and petty traders were asked to vacate the sidewalks, allowing for smoother traffic movement.
The initiative received widespread praise from residents and business owners, who commended the police for maintaining a peaceful and professional approach while restoring order to the city.
The operation was a joint effort involving Bo East and Bo West Police Divisions, alongside the Regional Headquarters, and demonstrated the unity and discipline that have come to define policing under AIG Kanneh’s leadership.
Key figures involved in the operation included the Deputy Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Commissioner of Police Fatmata Jebeh Daboh Kamara, and the Regional OSD Coordinator, DSP Hilton Lahai, whose personnel ensured proper security and enforcement. The Local Unit Commander of Bo West Division, Chief Superintendent of Police Joseph Honor Kamara, also played a key role in the exercise.
The operational success was driven by the Regional Operations Commander South, Superintendent Osman Mansaray, whose tactical coordination translated AIG Kanneh’s vision into flawless execution. His careful planning ensured the operation was efficient, non-confrontational, and highly effective.
