The Transnational Organized Crime Unit TOCU in collaboration with the Regional Family Support Unit (FSU) South is currently investigating four (4) suspects for allegedly involving in human dealing.
On Sunday 17th October 2021, the grandmother of the victim Emma Foday reported a case of alleged illegal adoption at the Transnational Organized Crime Unit involving four (4) suspects namely; Vincent Betty, Mary Manyeh, Betty Cole and Tenneh Turay the biological mother of the child.
During the course of investigation, it was revealed that Tenneh Turay (mother of victim) was impregnated by one Musa of Bo town but denied the pregnancy and she absconded from her mother Emma Foday and was later accommodated by Vincent Betty co-suspect.
On Wednesday 25th August 2021, Tenneh Turay gave birth to a baby boy at the Bo government hospital and one of the suspects Mary Manyeh paid the bills.
Mary Manyeh also informed Betty Cole that Tenneh Turay a relative of Betty Vincent had a two month some days old baby boy which lured Betty Cole to meet with Betty Vincent and her mother Agness Vincent in Bo City for further discussion in relation to the said child.
On the 31st August 2021, Betty Cole met with Betty Vincent in respect of the baby boy, Betty Vincent and her mother Agness Vincent claimed that they are the biological parents of Tenneh Turay, so Betty Cole gave them the sum of four Million Leones which was shared as thus:
One Million Leones for Betty Vincent and her mother Agness Vincent for taking care of the Baby and Tenneh Turay the mother of the victim was given Three Million Leones in exchange of the said Babe.
The said Baby Boy was given to Betty Cole. The child had been with her from the 31st of August 2021 on to the time of reporting and she had named the child as Victor Emmanuel Macualey.
However, the child has been retrieved from Betty Cole, while the investigation is in progress.
