The Sierra Leone Police Southern Region has observed with dismay the behavior of young boys and girls who are in the habit of clustering on the streets in the form of jogging on weekends (Saturdays & Sundays) along the principal streets/Roads of Bo City.
”The Sierra Leone Police wishes to inform the general public that such assemblies and street carnivals are unlawful and thus infringe on the rights of other road users which has the tendency to create public disorder and discomfort,” Police release states.
The notice added that “more importantly, the general public should aware about the gains already made by the Government and the People of Sierra Leone in the fight against the COVID -19 and such behavior/activities contravene the enhanced COVID -19 regulations.”
It continues that ” Henceforth, the general public is hereby warned that such assemblies in the form of jogging and street carnivals are banned with immediate effect and anyone caught in the said act will be dealt with in accordance with the law.”
