John Kamara, a 38-year-old plumber, made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on a charge of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge, on March 18, 2025, at #3A Syke Street in the Western Area of Freetown, Kamara allegedly stole a GUMA Valley water meter valued at 5,000 Leones, which was the property of GUMA Valley Water Company, while in the custody of Gibril Yillah.
When the charge was read and explained, Kamara pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, DPC 17649 Brima Kargbo, requested a short adjournment, citing the absence of the witness in court.
Magistrate Kekura denied bail and remanded Kamara to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown. The matter has been adjourned to April 10, 2025.
