Phone Theft: Bus Conductor Sentenced To 6 Months Imprisonment

After pleading guilty to the offence of theft before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of Court No 3 Ross Road, Freetown, the convict Sahr Koroma was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment.

The convict was before Magistrate Hadiru K Daboh of Ross Road Court No.3 for a count of larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the charge sheet, the convict Sahr Koroma on Monday 20th March 2023, at No. 9 Brima Lane, Kissy, Freetown, did steal one itel S17 mobile phone valued one thousand eight hundred Leones, property of Kadiatu Koroma.

The charge was read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded guilty.

The accused person was legally unrepresented but pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy. Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person Magistrate Daboh sentenced the accused person to six months imprisonment at the male correctional centre in Freetown.

Sergeant 8967 Margai J. Prosecuted the matter.

In another development, Magistrate Daboh discharged one Mohamed Deen who allegedly stole one tricycle windscreen valued at one thousand two hundred Leones.

The discharge came about when the complainant Mohamed Sheriff told the Court that he did not want the said matter to continue anymore.

Immediately, the accused was cautioned and discharged, while Sergeant 8976 Margai J prosecuted.
