Alimamy Sinneh, a businessman, and Alimamy Gbamkey, alias “White Boy,” appeared before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown, facing two charges: conspiracy contrary to law and robbery with aggravation, contrary to Section 23(1) of the Larceny Act 1916, as repealed and replaced by Section 2 of Act No. 16 of 1971.
According to the particulars of the offense, on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Gulf Club Lumley Beach Road, Freetown, the accused conspired together with other persons unknown to commit robbery with aggravation. The second count states that on the same date and location, armed with a cutlass, they robbed Blessing Cole of an iPhone 11 Pro Max, valued at fifteen thousand new Leones (15,000), and used personal violence against her.
When the charges were read to them, no plea was taken. Police Prosecutor Inspector M.K. Taylor, assisted by State Counsel Jouan Bull Esq., presented the first witness, Blessing A.V. Cole, a student at Fourah Bay College. In her testimony, Cole identified the accused persons and recounted that on February 23, 2025, she and her friends went to the sports zone to play basketball at around 7:30 PM. Afterward, as they were heading to Lumley to catch transport home, the accused attacked her in an attempt to steal her phone. The iPhone was produced and tendered in court for identification.
During the hearing, the defense counsel, M.K. Dauda, cross-examined the witness, attempting to prove his clients’ innocence of the allegations.
However, Magistrate Kekura denied bail and remanded both accused persons to the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown. The case was adjourned to April 8, 2025.
