Imran Loneh Kamara, petty trader, complainant and the first Police Witness in an alleged wounding with intent matter involving on Chernor Jalloh (accused person), has told the court that he was physically attacked and assaulted by the accused person at the place he used to sell his goods. He made this statement before Magistrate Marke Ngegba in Freetown on the 4th May, 2021 at the Pademba Road Court No.
According to the charged sheets, the accused person is charged with one counts of wounding with intent, count two maliciously wounding, and count three assault occasioning actual bodily harm all contrary to Laws of Sierra Leone.
It’s alleged in count one that the accused person on 24th April, 2021 at Ecowas street Freetown with intent to course grievous bodily harm damaged the said complainant, Imran Lomeh Kamara.
In counts two the accused person maliciously wounded the complainant Imran Lomeh Kamara and in count three it is alleged that the accused person assaulted occasioning actual bodily harm.
Testifying in court, PW1 said he knew the accused person as a sweeper and care taker at Ecowas Street. Witness said he came at his business place on the said date with some goods he was packing when he heard the accused person frivolously raining abuses up and down the street. The witness said the accused person forcefully took away his business bag and throws it at him and slaps him.
Again, the witness as he continued packing his cloths on the ground the accused person came and stabbed him on the left side of his stomach, his head, while trying to remove the knife from the accused; received several bites on his left foot.
The witness said he later reported the matter at the Central Police Division and they took statement from him. He said a Police Medical Request Form was issued to him for medical examination.
The accused person was not legally represented and was given the privilege to ask the complainant questions, of which he did.
State prosecutor for the case is A.T and the matter has been adjourned to the 10th May, 2021
