The Pujehun District Youth Chairman who served as one time District Coordinator for the 2021 Mid-Term Population and Housing Census in Pujehun Mohamed Kalloh, has left President Bio in an impressive mood after an eloquent presentation on the laudable contribution of the Bio Administration towards youth activities in Pujehun District.
“His excellency the president, her excellency the first Lady, I stand here this afternoon to talk on behalf of the young people of Pujehun District. As I had a personally conversation with the president last night, I mentioned few things the president is doing for the people of Pujehun ”, he said.
The Youth Chairman for Pujehun District Mohamed Kallon, intimated that one of the few things President Bio had done for the district is to invest in young people by building concrete foundation through the Human Capital Development in Sierra Leone.
He added that youth of the Pujehun District with the Leadership and support through the ministry of youth, extended thanks to President Bio for bringing youth fishing project in Sierra Leone. He confessed that Pujehun Youth Council also received 10 boats that are at the riverine areas which the youths are using to do economic development for themselves.
As a youth council, he said they are doing their best to equip JSS3 Pupils to be familiar with computers and be well grounded in technology. He disclosed that another internal project undertaken by the youth council for the past two years, is the commencement of the youth conference through the support by the Minister of Planning and Economic Development Dr. Francis Kaikai.
“ we are building our youth center, when it is done we will be calling His excellency to commission the youth center and also have a dinner with the young people of the district for them to tell us the achievements of the new direction agenda and the progress and Hope the youth should have in the government”.
Mohamed Kallon also extended profound thanks and appreciation to President Bio for appointing key stakeholders in his government. He particularly commended the President for the penultimate appointment of Sheilkh S. Sowa as the Commissioner General for the National Lands Commission. He considered such appointment as a proven testament that President Bio loves Pujehun District.
He acknowledged that Pujehun District had also benefited from the National Car Wash Project initiated by the New Direction Government which had created jobs for the youth in Pujehun. He added that the young people of Punjun District also benefited from ten motorbikes from UNDP. He assured that those motorbikes are now used to monitor government projects across the district.
Chairman Mohamed Kallon continued that President Bio’s Government had not just done a lot at national level to support Pujehun District, but also facilitated internal projects which the stakeholders have supported in Pujehun Distrct.
He also intimated that the youth of Pujehun had long envisaged President Bio’s agricultural activities in 2023 manifesto. He reiterated that they had envisage it for more than one year ago under their youth conference which precipitated the development of their road map for 2025 in Pujehun District. Inside that map, he said they have what they called invest in agriculture. He assured the President that they are investing in agriculture and all stakeholders in the district, particularly those appointed in President Bio’s government, are supporting the council extremely and they are doing well.
“Let me first of all take this privilege to congratulate you for the leadership being demonstrated in Sierra Leone. If I stand here as a youth leader to call the holistic number of people you’ve appoint in your government, I will not be able to complete because I know over 100 people”, he concluded.
