During his thank you visit to Mano Dasse, Bumpe Gao Chiefdom, Tinkonko Chiefdom, Bongor Chiefdom, Jaama Chiefdom, Wonde Chiefdom and Kakau Chiefdom in the Southern Region, Paramount Chiefs, other Local Authorities, youth groups, and women of the aforementioned Chiefdoms, have all made an indelible assurance in re-electing President Julius Maada Bio no run-off in 2023. Their undaunted commitment to re-elect President Bio is to reciprocate their gratitude for the introduction of the Free Quality Education which has helped lessen the economic burden on them.
In his thank you message, President Bio reminded the respective chiefdom that in 2018, he asked the people of Sierra Leone to vote for him to clean the bad image of Sierra Leone and be part of the Community of Nations. He assured that his government is doing exactly what they have started doing to change the bad stories about Sierra Leone.
President Bio also reminded the people in the Southern Region that the world over is going through hectic economic challenges. He, therefore, encouraged them to engage in massive agricultural activities to avert global economic challenges. President Bio stressed that Sierra Leone is naturally endowed and blessed with fertile lands and abundant rains which can boost tremendous agricultural productivity.
President Bio also gave an ineradicable assurance to the people of the Southern Region, and Sierra Leone by extension that agriculture and education would be his flagship programme in his second term of presidency. He said Food security is going to be his utmost priority by encouraging people to enter the bush to invest in farming.
“For any country to be developed there shall be food security, a good healthcare system, and education. That is the true meaning of Human Capital Development. People have been asking what my government has done in just four years. It took England and America a hundred years to attain the status we are all yearning for today. We just started under my government in building a solid foundation to build Sierra Leone just like the England and America we cherished today”, he said.
President Bio also admonished that just in four years in governance; the work of his New Direction work has been acknowledged across the globe. He added that his good work through the Free Quality Education has resulted in producing qualitative and quantitative passes in Public Examinations across the country.
President Bio, therefore, requested the people of Sierra Leone to give the Sierra Leone People’s Party another 20 years to change the bad stories and image of Sierra Leone. He added that it is only the SLPP that would produce a leader that has a country and its people at heart. President Bio also encouraged the youth not to give up as his government has so many developmental plans for the youth but such would take time in order to attain sustainability.
Alhaji Alpha Kanu, the Presidential Spokesperson reechoed that the introduction of Free Quality Education by President Bio is the best gift ever President Bio has given to parents and pupils of Sierra Leone. He added that the overwhelming passes in the 2022 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination, is indeed a testament that Free Quality Education is yielding the needed dividend.
He furthered that President Bio has equalized opportunities for all Sierra Leoneans irrespective of social stratification, especially in the Human Capital Development drive (Free Quality Education).
Alpha Kanu concluded by reminding the Southerners that President Bio’s only ambition is National Service which includes but is not limited to; restoring peace and democracy, being actively involved during the fight against the 2014 Ebola, conceding defeat in the 2012 elections and congratulated the victor was indeed an authentication of National Service to the nation. He, therefore, encouraged all and sundry to re-elect President Bio without any run-off.
