The former Minister of Sports, under the EBK Government Paul Kamara, has categorically condemned the trajectory of fusion of powers in the All People’s Congress Party (APC) wherein, he questioned why members of the TIEMC who were responsible for supervising the process of electing the executives happened to be the same people endorsing a candidate and also contesting for about eight elective positions.

He justified that as a form of taking sides saying, “One cannot be the referee and the player at the same time as it is against the natural rule of justice.” He, therefore, demanded that they should look for the back door for their exit.

Paul Kamara went on to recall that it was some of those people who were expelled from parliament due to their misconduct in the destruction of parliament property. By their legal standards, he said that if parliament expelled someone from parliament, that person had no right to be a member of the TIEMC.

“Their status as Members of Parliament have been eroded and unless they have to impersonate parliament so therefore, they should take their exit,” he maintained.

The former Minister of APC disclosed that the party had received so many petitions because of its bad activities. “One of the embarrassing petitions is the one trying to restrain the party from holding its national delegates conference despite all the long preparation,” he said.

Paul Kamara intimated that one of the negative activities of the party was the grudges that exist between the two parties which are expected to form as one. “The one party is still holding grudges where in fact, it has decided to pull a selection consultation clause from the APC and that is disrespectful to the elders of the party,” he added.

Kamara went on to state that there was no significant reason why the two parties should not come together and do the right thing.

The former Sports Minister went further by emphasizing that it was the reason he said the former president, Ernest Bai Koroma was still interfering with the party’s election despite his resignation from politics. He added that the Alfred Paolo Conteh Team on the other hand was always creating roadblocks as a way of fighting against the party.

As someone who had sacrificed his blood for democracy to thrive, sacrificed his life for always revealing the truth, being a freedom fighter who much was expected, Paul Kamara said, “I will not sit to see all of these blatant activities with impunity, especially by not caring for court orders and PPRC decision without displaying my dissatisfaction and bringing to light what is happening.”
