Adama Mariatu Turay, 25, appeared once again before Magistrate Adama Kandeh at Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 4 in Freetown on charges of trespassing, contrary to section 15(1)(b) of the Public Order Act 1965.

The particulars of the offence state that on Thursday, 7th August 2025, Adama Mariatu Turay, the biological daughter of Pastor Ibrahim James Turay, unlawfully entered her father’s residence at No. 44 Pratt Street, New England Ville, after having been previously warned not to do so.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused, she pleaded guilty.

During her appearance, Adama told the court that since she was a child, she had been told that Pastor Ibrahim James Turay was her biological father. However, more recently, some family members had informed her that Pastor Turay was not her biological father, but rather a man named Mr. Sesay.

Adama explained to the court that this revelation had caused her significant emotional distress, which she claimed had affected her mental health and social life. She said that due to the trauma, she had become involved with negative peer groups and developed a substance abuse problem. Furthermore, she expressed that her circumstances had prevented her from continuing her education due to a lack of support.

When Pastor Ibrahim James Turay was given the opportunity to address the court, he explained that he had cared for Adama since she was a baby. However, he said that the accused’s mother had recently told him that he was not her biological father and that the biological father was Mr. Sesay.

Pastor Turay also told the court that Adama had repeatedly molested and publicly humiliated him, leading to feelings of shame and ridicule. He stated that her actions had become unbearable, and he could no longer tolerate the situation. Pastor Turay requested that the court summon the accused’s mother to clarify the matter of parentage.

After considering the request, Magistrate A. Kandeh ruled that the mother should be invited to court for further clarification. The case was adjourned to 26th August 2025. Inspector Juliet Maculey is prosecuting the matter.
