The Parliamentary Oversight Committee on Sports has on Friday concludes meetings with football family to settled the issues that has to do with the nomination process leading to the Elective Congress that is slated to take place from the 26th to the 27th February 2021.

However, Parliament reached at the following resolution after three day meeting with the football family:

1.That Parliament has assured the process so far and do hereby admonished all parties including the Electoral Committee, the Electoral Appeals Committee, the Ethics Board, the SLFA Secretariat and Stakeholders to ensure that the process is free fairs,  Transparent, Independent, impartial and expeditious in accordance with the provisions and guidelines  enshrined in the SLFA Electoral  code of 2012.

2. That the process shall create a level playing field; meaning all candidates shall have equal rights to contest without exceptions and that the process shall not be skewed towards granting any person or group of person undue advantage.

3. That the Stay in action is hereby rescinded to allow the Committees and Judicial bodies to function freely and fairly in accordance with Article 19 part 2 of FIFA Statues.

4. That Parliament assured all Stakeholders of its commitment to continue to monitor the process which should be free, fair, Credible and Transparent.

5.That Parliament seek to engage all stakeholders with a view to giving counsel to the Ministry of Sports, the National Sport Authority FIFA and CAF that they are able to implement paragraph 1,2, and 3 and of the resolution.

6. Parliament urges all stakeholders to remain calm and commit themselves to a peaceful Electoral.
