Paramount of Malen, BVS Kebbie has taken swipe at the killer negative propaganda of the Belgian group FIAN that is intended to put the SOCFIN Agriculture Company out of business in the bogus guise of fighting land grabbing.
A case report recently published by FIAN’s international, an international human rights organization continues to misrepresent Sierra Leone in a terrible and appalling form and it is high time the government repudiated such bad image of the country.
FIAN’s mandate to expose violations of people’s right to food wherever they may occur and also stand up against unjust and oppressive practices that prevent people from feeding themselves is misdirected in its attacks against SOCFIN Agricultural Company. For there is hardly any oppressive practice from the company to the extent of reducing the natives to starvation.
The Paramount Chief of Sahn-Malen Chiefdom who is the legal custodian in the chiefdom has time without number explained to Sierra Leoneans and the world that his chiefdom is growing rapidly since the inception of the agricultural company.
What else FIAN is trying to portray? The cock and bull stories from the lackeys such as Green Scenery are not in the interest of the country and indigenes of Malen chiefdom.
Paramount Chief Kebbie has made it abundantly clear that the unnecessary meddling and interference by local and international Civil Society Organizations in his chiefdom since the commencement of Socfin Agricultural Company is the crux of the problem in Malen Chiefdom.
“If only these Civil Society Organizations will mind their business and concentrate on better activities in helping the country to grow it will be good for us as a nation,” he said.
He added: “All the reports they are publishing against the chiefdom by using hapless villagers to say something wrong about the chiefdom is fictitious and false”.
The Government of President Julius Maada Bio should act wisely and not allow FIAN’s Belgium and other International Organizations like Enda Pronat, GRAIN, ReAct, SOS Faim, among others to destroy Sierra Leone to genuine investors who are closely monitoring the Socfin episode strongly.
FIAN’s-Belgium continues to frustrate genuine investors that are coming to invest in the country, creating jobs for our jobless youths.
This writer is challenging FIAN-Belgium to point at any development they have done in Sierra Leone for our people, all what they are doing is to work with local Civil Society Organizations to distort reality about the agricultural company.
Everyone knows that the agricultural company is not 100% perfect, but portraying all sorts of gibberish against genuine investors have the propensity to scare investors out of the country.
Sierra Leoneans are tired with the incessant and stale land grabbing narratives issues by FIAN’s and its ilks are churning out.
The demonstration at the ING Bank sometimes ago by FIAN’s and other organizations to discourage loan disbursement to SAC is a disservice to Sierra Leone. This has the potential of creating joblessness and other economic strangulation of rural residents in the company’s operational area.
The recent snub and rejections from the people of Bannaleh in Sahn-Malen Chiefdom is a wakeup call to Green Scenery and FIAN-Belgium that the people of Sahn-Malen Chiefdom, Pujehun District are happy and pleased with Socfin Agricultural Company in the chiefdom and the evolving rapid transformation the chiefdom is witnessing.
The corporate social responsibility largess from the company in Microcredits to women groups, helping them with brand new motorbikes, supporting various groups with agricultural seeds cannot be dismissed. The people of Malen know their liberators from the pretenders.
