In a solemn declaration from his office on Ngalu Road, Bo City, the Paramount Chief of Kakua Chiefdom, Honorable Prince Lappia Boima, has expressed grave concern over the escalating trade and consumption of Kush within his domain by unscrupulous individuals in Sierra Leone.
Addressing a gathering of media representatives from various outlets in Bo City, Honorable Boima lamented the detrimental effects of Kush on Sierra Leonean society, likening it to an “epidemic” that has inflicted irreversible damage on the nation’s youth.
“Every Sierra Leonean is affected by Kush either directly or indirectly,” Honorable Boima stated, emphasizing the urgent need for concerted efforts to combat and eradicate the drug scourge. He urged all well-meaning citizens to join in the fight against Kush, highlighting the collective responsibility to safeguard the future of Sierra Leone’s youth.
Honorable Boima issued a stern warning to Kush sellers and users in Kakua Chiefdom, calling for an immediate cessation of all Kush-related activities. He assured swift intervention by law enforcement agencies, including the Sierra Leone Police and the military, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders in Bo District, to wage a relentless war against Kush trade and consumption in his jurisdiction.
Furthermore, the Paramount Chief announced plans to intensify raids on identified Kush distribution points within Kakua Chiefdom, calling on residents to cooperate with authorities by providing crucial information to enhance the effectiveness of the operations.
In a plea to his fellow paramount chiefs across Sierra Leone, Honorable Boima urged them to emulate his proactive stance in combating the Kush menace within their respective chiefdoms, emphasizing the imperative of safeguarding the nation’s youth for a brighter future.
