The Paramount Chief of Small Bo Chiefdom in Kenema District, P.C Darfie Benya has filed in a complaint to the Anti –Corruption office in Kenema against the Chiefdom Administrative Clerk Thomas Galia for an alleged misappropriation of chiefdom funds to the tune of at least seventy four million Leones (Le 74,000,000).

According to Paramount Chief Benya, since the transfer of the Chiefdom Administrative Clerk, Mr. Galia to the Small Bo Chiefdom, funds meant for the chiefdom have been allegedly siphoned by him, a situation he described as unfortunate.

P.C Darfie Benya said upon cross checking with the bank to ascertain whether monies meant to be deposited into the chiefdom account by the clerk was done, he was surprised to know that, bulk of the money amounting to over seventy four million Leones (Le 74,000,000) was not deposited and that Thomas Galia has since then disappeared from the chiefdom.

The P.C said, the fund allegedly mismanaged by Mr. Galia was meant primarily to undertake development programs in the chiefdom. Paramount chief Darfie Benya has therefore expressed frustration and dissatisfaction over the apparent conduct of his chiefdom administrative clerk and has called on the ACC to immediately probe into the said matter and ensure the chiefdom gets back it funds for development purposes.

However, Thomas Galia has not been reached  on his private line 078-756612 in spite of several efforts from our correspondent.

According to sources he is currently lobbying with some political figures in the country to downplay the said matter.

Meanwhile, an authoritative source from the ACC office in Kenema has revealed to this medium that they have received the complaint from P.C Darfie Benya and have commenced investigation into the matter.
