The issue of drug abuse has become a significant concern in Sierra Leone, deeply affecting the fabric of society and raising alarms about the future of the nation and its communities.

In response to this growing menace, Paramount Chief Bai Koblo Queen II, on 19th October 2025, officially endorsed the Anti-Drugs School Campaign in Marampa Chiefdom. This campaign is aimed at addressing the escalating drug problem, particularly among school-aged children.

As the first Paramount Chief to actively engage in this critical cause, P.C. Bai Koblo Queen II expressed his full commitment to supporting the fight against drugs in Marampa Chiefdom. He emphasized that the campaign’s focus on schools is both timely and essential.

“The learning institutions are meant to be the moral pillars that shape the character of the next generation of leaders. Therefore, drugs should never be an option for school-going children,” said P.C. Queen II. “Fighting this issue is worth every effort. The responsibility is ours, and we must take action to cleanse our communities.”

The campaign, which began on Monday, 20th October 2025, has called on all stakeholders to join hands in the fight against drugs and support this important cause. P.C. Queen II concluded, “We must work together to ensure that our society is free from the destructive effects of drugs.”
