The Local Unit Commander of the Waterloo Police Station, Krushov Kargbo has said this is the fourth murder since he was posted to Waterloo, noting that they were able to arrest all perpetrators. He said he is trying to change the narratives that the district has one of the highest crime rates compared to other districts.
“We are faced with logistical constraints to police the entire Waterloo and by extension, Songo and Kent”, said the LUC.
He said more manpower is needed to man the district and weed out criminals from the communities.
It could be recalled that stakeholders of Waterloo had discussed in a general meeting the way forward in addressing the high crime rate in the district. Key in the discussion was the influx of illegal substances amongst the youths as well as the influx of criminals.
