The Campaign for Human Rights and Development International (CHRDI) has condemned the violent murder of Miss Sinnah Kai Kargbo, allegedly by her former boss and lover of the said bank.
The Executive Director of CHRDI, Mr Fatoma has called on the Sierra Leone Police to ensure that justice is dispensed speedily. He further stated by calling on the security sector, the Director of Public Prosecution and Judges to ensure that the rule of law still prevails and justice is dispensed speedily, he further heightened that transparency, fairness and due process must be paramount in the investigation and prosecution of cases in the country.
He went on that this will be of benefit to the state as he said this will show the international community that the Sierra Leone Judiciary system can be depended on and is working said the Director of CHRDI, adding that there are huge number of human right abuses in the country.
He further mentioned that there haven’t been many investigations that are independent and effective in the country.
In conclusion to his statement, he said as an organization they are concerned about the high number of killings and violations of human rights that are happening all over the country and urged that the government do something about these repeated crimes.
