17yrs old Abdul Aziz Cookson a Student made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on three count charges of Wounding with intent contrary to section 18 of the offences against the person Act 1861, Wounding contrary to the section 20 of the offences against the person Act 1861 and Assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to the section 47 of the offences against the person Act 1861.
According to the particulars of the offence on Thursday 30th, June 2022 at Circular road the western area in Freetown maliciously wounded and assaulted Alex Wilson with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and pleaded not guilty on his first appearance.
The prosecution in a bid to prove their case called two witnesses including the formal witness
However, Magistrate Gogra said having looked at the evidence he is of the view that the prosecution has adduced sufficient evidence to warrant a committal of this matter to the high court for trials and he granted the accused person bail for twenty million Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties must be resident in the western area both sureties to produce valid identity card both sureties to be employed bail to be approved by the Bench, while Inspector Mabel M Tarawalie prosecuted the matter.
