Over alleged theft driver sentenced 3months imprisonment

20yrs Alhaji Sesay a driver made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916

According to the particulars of offence on Thursday 17th November 2022 at Toqui entertainment Centre Lumley beach Road the western area in Freetown Stole ten blue and white bulbs each value three hundred new Leones (300,00) one wall glass valued six hundred new Leones(600,00) and one electricity distribution supply agency EDSA metter valued one thousand five hundred new Leones(1,500,00) all to the total sum of five thousand one hundred new Leones(5,100) Property of Alhaji Kabia.

The charge was read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded guilty.

The prosecutor Inspector Mabel M Tarawalie told the bench that fact as charged no available records against the accused person.

The accused person was unrepresented he pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.

However Magistrate Gogra due to the plea mitigation by the accused person and taken into consideration that he is a first time offender he sentenced the accused person to three months imprisonment to the male correctional center in Freetown.
