Over alleged Perversion of justice 38yrs old granted 20m bail

38yrs old Prince Kangoma a Civil servant made made his first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Derverting the cause of justice contrary to law

According to the particulars of offence on Thursday 5th November 2021 at the Congo Cross police station the Western area in Freetown being a surety for Suspect Success Kamara who is under investigation for the offences of House breaking and Larceny, sign on behalf of the said Suspect success Kamara to produce him at the Criminal Investigation Department Congo Cross police station on a date and time failed to execute such a bond

The charge was read and explained to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun informed the Bench that her witness is absent.

Counsel representing the accused person M.F Bangura and ISY Kamara applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on his behalf he will not interfere with prosecution witnesses he made his application pursuant to section 79 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Gogra granted the accused person bail in the sum of twenty million Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area sureties to produce valid identity card one surety to be gainfully employed bail to be approved by the Bench matter adjourned to the 2nd November 2022.
