Over Alleged Lungi Airport theft Matter: Exhibit Clerk Tender Exhibits

The exhibit clerk Detective Sergeant 8576 Issa Kamara attached to the exhibit clerk office CID HQ has on Thursday 20th January 2022 tendered 2 IPhones and 1 Suit case Box before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road court No 1 in the ongoing preliminary investigation into the alleged theft of over 71 pieces of IPhones involving Alpha Kandeh Luseni Bangura a supervisor at the Lungi International airport and one Sallieu Thaimu Kamara.

The accused persons Alpha Kandeh Luseni Bangura and Sallieu Thaimu Kamara are before the court on two count charges of larceny and receiving stolen goods contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

According to the police, it was alleged on count one that the first accused Alpha Kandeh Luseni Bangura on Sunday 14th November 2021 at the Lungi International airport did stole assorted IPhones to the total valued of six hundred and twenty four million five hundred thousand leones property of Mohamed Conteh. Whiles count two added that the second accused Sallieu Thaimu Kamara on a date unknown in November, at the said airport received two pieces of IPhones pro-max mobile phone each value twenty million leones all to the total valued of 40 million leones.

The witness in further testimony said some of his duty and responsibilities as exhibit clerk is to ensure the safe keeping of all exhibit brought in their office relating to matter reported for investigation. He further recalled 12th January 2022 when DPC 17801 Mansaray MS attached major incident unit CID HQ handed over to him one old pink pro -13 Iphone, one old butter colour pro-13 Iphone and one blue and green colour wisdom suit case box which were registered in our court exhibit book against serial number 05/2022 and since then it has been in police custody.

The said items were produced and tender in court respectively as exhibit to form part of the prosecution case. Magistrate Sahr Kekura however refused the first accused bail and remanded him in custody whiles the second accused bail still continued. The matter has been adjourned to the 21st January 2022 for further hearing.
