28yrs old Sinneh Koroma a Footballer and 28yrs old Sento Koroma a business woman made their first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on three court charges two ranging from Assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the offences against the person Act 1861 and Trespass contrary to section 15 (1) (b) of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965.
According to the particulars of offence on Friday 17th June 2022 at #8 high broad street Murray Town the western area in Freetown the first and second accused persons assaulted Memunatu Cole in a manner thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm contrary on count three both accused persons unlawfully entered the dwelling house of Memunatu Cole having being warned not to do so.
Led evidence by Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun the first prosecution witness (PW1) Fatmata Boi Kpaka a Teacher said she recognized both accused persons and recalled them on the 17th of June 2022. The witness explained to the court in detail what transpired between them.
The witness was cross-examined by B.S Kamara, who later applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that the accused persons are Sierra Leoneans resident within this jurisdiction and that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance he will not jump bail nor will they interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses he made his application under the section 79 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
However, Magistrate Gogra granted the accused person bail for ten million Leones with two sureties in like sum surety must be resident in the western area sureties to produce valid identity card depicting his or her addresses in Freetown one surety to be employed bail to be approved by the Bench.
The matter was adjourned to the 8th of August 2022 for further hearing.
