Hassan Koroma a man in his early thirties made another appearance before magistrate Sahr Keikura of Pademba road court in Freetown on three counts Charges to wit Conspiracy to commit malicious damage contrary to law, malicious damage contrary to section 51 of the malicious Act of 1861 and Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge sheet it was alleged that on the 18th April 2021 at off peninsular road Hamilton village in the Western Area in Freetown maliciously damaged things worth five million Leones (5,000,000) and did steal different building materials valued forty nine million six hundred and thirty thousand Leones (49,630,000) property of the Attorney General (AG), Anthony Yewo Brewa .
Prosecution witness number two Joseph Kainande the caretaker at the Land of the Attorney general and minister of justice he know the complainant through one Mr Daramy he recognise the accused person in the dock they are living in Hamilton village and he recall on the 18th day of April 2021 something transfer between himself and the accused person.
On that very day when the accused person breaks himself and one Sulaiman Kaisamba was on the land constructing pillars on the land and they already laid twenty seven pillars on the day in question they completed two pillars.
They saw two vehicles across the water they saw one green pathfinder jeep 814 Benz 10 loaded with people amongst them were two military officers and others civilian. The witness said the accused persons were leading the gang, while others were carrying gallons, and the others were holding sticks, cutlass, iron ore, and the used of motherly invectives was at play.
Witness continued that he told his Co- Worker Sulaiman Kaisamba that since the accused persons and their gangs are coming they should were they were able to see and ‘Gibo Sorie’ damaging a structured shift.
The witness said after receiving the response he called on Mr Daramy but didn’t respond and later returned his call and gave him certain information and Mr Daramy came to the scene with a police officer who took snap shots of the scene. The witness said he went to Adonkia police stations were he made his statement.
Representing the state Yusif Isaac Sesay objected to bail by addressing the bench that the witness is not safe and was threatened by the accused person and he is opposing to bail on that grounds magistrate Keikura responding to state counsel said that when the witness was on oath he didn’t mentioned that and there was argument between the bench and the prosecution.
In that light Magistrate Keikura refused bail and sent the accused person to the Male correctional centre in Freetown. Matter adjourned to the 19th August 2021.
