Operation Support Department (OSD), Ibrahim Taqi Koroma, Dankay Koroma pupil and Aminata Kabia a business woman on Tuesday 22nd March, 2022, appeared before Magistrate Isata Sellu Tucker of Court No 3 Pademba Road, Freetown, for beating a student Musu Wright who is doing nursing course.
All three accused persons Dankay Koroma, Aminata Kabia and Ibrahim Taqui Koroma were charged on three counts ranging from Conspiracy to Commit crime Contrary to law, wounding Contrary Section 20 of the offences Against the Person Act 1861 and Assault Occaisioning Actual Bodily Harm Contrary to Section 47 of of the Offences Act 1861.
According to the Particulars of Offence on count 1, all accused persons on Wednesday 8th December 2021, at Jalloh Terrace Wellington, Freetown, conspired together together and with other person’s unknown to commit a crime to wit wounding. Count 2 state that the all accused persons on the same date and place maliciously wounded Musu Wright and count 3 state that all accused on the same date and place assaulted Musu Wright in a manner thereby occaisioning her actual bodily harm.
Prosecution witness number two Kadiatu Jalloh said he knows the complainant in the matter as her neighbour and he recognized all the accused persons in the dock the witness said he knew the accused person through their Mother the first accused person.
He recalled on Wednesday 8th December 2021 he was at her verandah at that time in the morning hours he had the third accused calling his mother the first accused person and his sister the second accused to come out am going to use this cutlass to put the complainant society the third accused person the police officer went to the house of the complainant and get her clothes and placing his fingers in her dress few minutes she started saw blood oozing down her body she went there to separate them the third accused said he entered the force to reiterate for his family the witness said few hours she saw the third accused person come with a truck filled with police officers on their way the third accused person the police officer told the mother of complainant that he is going to killed her daughter she made statement at Kissy Police Station
Counsel representing the accused person applied for bail for and on behalf of the third accused person pursuant to section 79 2 and 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965,the prosecution relies on the affidavit in opposition.
However, Magistrate Tucker refused bail for the OSD officer and the 1st and 2nd accused persons bail continues
