Orange Group, a global conglomerate, has unveiled its pioneering initiative, “Orange Engage for Change,” aimed at empowering its employees to address pressing societal and environmental challenges. Recognizing the urgency amidst escalating climate events, social disruptions, and evolving work patterns, the conglomerate is fostering a sense of purpose and communal engagement.

Under this initiative, each Orange Group employee is granted three working days annually to dedicate to projects with a social impact. Leveraging the extensive network of the Orange Foundation and Orange Digital Centers, the program provides a structured framework and diverse opportunities for volunteering, extending its reach to both employees and the general public.

Jérôme Hénique, CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa, emphasized the initiative’s reliance on existing programs, ensuring a solid infrastructure for impactful actions. Localized efforts on June 5th showcased the tangible outcomes of this platform, with notable endeavors such as a team of 200 employees in Mali contributing to the reforestation of an urban park and 150 employees in Côte d’Ivoire reforesting 30 hectares in the Azaguié forest.

Aema Ennafei, Executive Director of CSR and Communications at Orange Middle East and Africa, highlighted the initiative’s role in fostering unity and promoting shared values among teams. She emphasized the collective commitment of employees to bolster local projects enhancing social cohesion and environmental sustainability.

Orange’s commitment to supporting community-driven projects underscores its dedication to effecting enduring change and empowering its workforce as catalysts for positive societal transformation.

The “Orange Engage for Change” initiative reflects Orange Group’s proactive stance towards corporate social responsibility, aligning with global trends prioritizing sustainability and social impact. By mobilizing its workforce for community engagement, Orange not only strengthens its corporate image but also fosters a culture of responsibility and purpose among employees. This initiative could set a precedent for other corporations seeking to integrate social and environmental stewardship into their corporate ethos.
