The operations office at the Magburoka Police Division Inspector Thomas E.K. Tobe has strictly warned people to stay off from any form of lawlessness amidst the lift of the Covid-19 restrictions in the Country. Inspector Tobe made the statement when explaining to our correspondent the current measures which the Magburoka Police Division has put in place to put a stop to crimes and lawlessness in their area of operations in Tonkolili District.
Although the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted by the government of Sierra Leone through the national Covid-19 Emergency response centre but the laws of the Country and the operations of the Sierra Leone Police to protect lives and properties still remain intact.
One of the measures of policing the people according to him is night patrols wherein they will be using their Police patrol vehicle to strategic points to deploy some of their personnel to patrol in communities on foot including plain clothes in making sure they provide better policing in their jurisdiction. He therefore warned armed robbers and clique boys to desist from any form of lawlessness and to adhere to the rules and regulations.
He added that the 11; Pm to 5: am curfew has been lifted but they will also involve in area bit patrol to enable them apprehend lawless, criminals and thieves who are causing mayhem in the communities.
He further appealed to all and sundry to implement what he describes as neighbour-hood security and as well give the police information about criminal activities that are happening in their communities.
Inspector Tobe further appealed to all social clubs to seek police clearance for any social activities they may want to undertake as section 46 of the 1965 public order Act states that the Police should be informed of whatever activities people may want to undertake, Seventy- two (72) hours prior to the activities failing to do so it will be detrimental.
