Junisa Squire a sales manager at Winsome General Supplies and Construction Enterprise and two others were on Friday 18th August 2023 sent to prison by Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No3 for allegedly stealing over 100 pieces of timber board and other assorted items to the tune of Le 273,100 new Leones.
The accused persons Junisa Squire, Mohamed Sama and Foday Pessima made their first appearance in court and were arraigned on two counts charges of conspiracy contrary to law and larceny by servant contrary to section 29)1a) of the larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on count one; the accused persons on Wednesday 2nd August 2023, at Winsome General Supplies and Construction Enterprise, Mile 13 Peninsula road Freetown conspired together and with other person’s unknown to commit a felony to wit larceny by servant.
The police further alleged on count two that the accused persons on the same date and place being a servant employed by the said company stole 107 pieces of timber board and other assorted items all to the total valued of NLE 273,100 property of Winsome General Supplies and Construction Enterprise.
When the charges were read and explain to the accused persons, no plea was taken and no legal representation was made on their behalf.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh requested for an adjournment to have conference with his witnesses.
Magistrate Bangura remanded the accused persons in prison and adjourned the matter to the 23rd August 2023 for further hearing.
