25yrs-old Maada Kamara a Labourer made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown on four count charges to wit Conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to law, Wounding with intent, Wounding, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
According to the particulars of offence on Monday 11th July 2022 at Sankey Street Brook fields the western area in Freetown conspired together with and other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit Wounding with intent; on count two the accused person wounded Mohamed Kamara with intent to do him grievous bodily harm; on count three and four the accused person maliciously wounded and assaulted the said complainant in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
On his first appearance the charges were read and explained to the accused person and no plea was made.
The prosecution Led four witnesses including the factual witness, while the accused person was unrepresented.
However, Magistrate Gogra said having looked at the evidence he is of the view that the prosecution has adduced sufficient evidence in order to warrant a committal of the matter to the High Court for trial.
The accused person was granted bail in the sum of twenty million Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area sureties to be resident in the western area sureties to produce valid identity card one surety to be employed bail to be approved by the Bench. Inspector Musu Edna Kpulun prosecuted the matter in the lower court.
