Ibrahim Kamara a registered state nurse attached to the Rokupa Government hospital has on Wednesday 15th November 2023 testified in the ongoing preliminary investigation into the alleged murder of Ibrahim Jagitay involving his cousin Mohamed Jagitay.
The accused Mohamed Jagitay is standing trial before magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No1 on one count charge of murder contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offences, the accused on Friday 28nJuky 2023, at Kellie Farm Malambay village Waterloo murdered Ibrahim Jagitay.
Prosecution witness No 5 Ibrahim Kamara led in evidence by Inspector Sellu TAP said he is a nurse attached to the Rokupa Government hospital.
He said he knows the accused through his late father and the deceased also.
On the 28th July 2023, the witness said he was at home when the accused met him and explained to him that he has an injury on his right thumb and palm, adding that he asked him as to how he sustained the injury but said the accused told him that he fell from a motor bike.
” I asked him if he was hit by someone but he said no, and said if he was hit he should go to the police and obtained medical report but he insisted that he only fell from his bike that the deceased was riding”, he explained.
The witness said he gave him three stitches and asked him to see him the following day but said since then he has not set his eyes on him.
On the 2nd August 2023, he said he received a telephone call from the Waterloo police station where he went and made statement in respect of the matter.
Defense Counsel requested for an adjournment to cross examined the witness.
The matter was adjourned to the 23rd November 2023 for cross examination of the witness and the accused was remanded in prison.
