The much anticipated family affairs between Old Edwardian Football Club and Luawa Football Club ended in a 1-1 all draw at the Trade Centre field.
The match started with high intensity from both sides, with much of actions in the pitch of play was totally different from what is happening from both club officials putting on some unsportsmanlike displays.
The first half ended goalless between the two sides, although either side gets chances to have taken the lead but the chances were not enough for the entire first half.
After the recess, both teams returned to the pitch with high optimism of securing all three points. In the 69 minutes of play, Luawa Football Club broke the deadlock and took the lead with a well-executed free-Kick from Alhaji Jalloh and the ball was scored by Emmanuel Bangura who headed home to give the lead to the away side.
While taking the lead, Luawa FC created more intensity from the match. They could have secured a second goal in the 80th minutes through a counter attack but the chance was not well taken.
In the 89th minute of play, former FC Johansen striker Kwame Quee scored from a set piece to level terms as the host Old Edwardians FC get back to the match and nearly went close to take the lead as they look more dangerous In front of goal.
Both teams push hard to get the winning goal but the defensive work rate of either side proved to be exceptionally good as the match ended in draw.
Leone Rock Premier League continues over the weekend as Luawa Football Club host Wusum Stars on Saturday and Old Edwardian Football Club host BHANTAL FC at the Parade Ground.
