Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road Court No. 1 in Freetown has remanded 29yrs-old Joseph Sampha Conteh residing at Grassfiled to the Male Correctional Center on Pademba road in Freetown for allegedly robbing Foday Mansaray of his TVS motorbike valued at eighteen thousand leones (NLe18,000).
Sampha Conteh was arrested on 2 May 2023 by Detective Police Constable 13823 Bangura FD.
The accused appeared before the court on five counts charges of conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to the law, robbery with aggravation, wounding with intent, wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
It was alleged in the charge sheet that the accused, o Monday 8 August 2022 at Mende Church Black Hall Road Kissy Freetown, conspired with unknown persons to commit a felony to wit robbery aggravation.
It was alleged that the accused armed with matchets robbed Foday Mansaray of his TVS motorbike valued at eighteen thousand leones (NLe18,000) property belonging to Gibrilla Kanu while in custody of Foday Mansaray.
The charge sheet furthered that the accused, on the same date and place, in Freetown, assaulted and wounded the complainant in a manner thereby causing him grievous bodily harm.
At the mention of the matter, the police prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Osman M. Bangura told the court that the investigating Officer have arrested another suspect and wanted to send the file for consolidation application which was granted.
The accused was denied bail and remanded at the Male Correctional Center on Pademba Road in Freetown. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Osman M. Bangura is prosecuting the matter.
The matter was adjourned to 31st May 2023 for further hearing.
