20 years old Daniel Jah Okada Rider made his first appearance before Magistrate Ladonnette Cole of Pademba road court No.5 in Freetown on a count of Fraudulent conversion Contrary to Section 20 (1) (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Tuesday 9th May 2023 at service secondary school Juba Barracks the Western Area in Freetown Fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit certain property that is to say one blue color motor bike with registration number AQU 570 value the sum of five thousand five hundred Leones (Le 5,500) entrusted to him by Victor Justin Patrick Alie for the purpose of riding it on commercial basis property of the said complainant.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor Sergeant 3001 Francess Lamin requested for a short adjournment date for her to get proper conference with her witness. Meanwhile, Magistrate Cole refused bail and sent the accused person to the male facility in Freetown matter was adjourned to the 12th December 2023 for further hearing.
In another development , in the same court, 21 years old Mohamed Kamara made his first appearance before Magistrate Ladonnette Cole of Pademba road court No.5 in Freetown on three count charges to wit conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to law and robbery with aggravation contrary to section 23 (1) (a) of the Larceny Act of 1916 as repealed and replaced by Section 2 of Act No.16 of 1917.
According to the particulars of offence on Wednesday 22nd November 2023 at Bontany Water side back of Fourah Bay college the mountain rural district the western area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a crime on count two on the above date and place the accused person being armed with cutlass robbed Foday Banglie of the sum of seven hundred Leones, one Samsung J-16 plus mobile phone and one black puma facing cap all to the total value four thousand nine hundred and seventy Leones(4,970) property of Foday Bangalie.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution witness was absent in court and requested for a short adjournment date.
Magistrate Cole refuse bail and sent the accused person to the male facility in Freetown matter adjourned to the 12th December 2023 for further hearing Sergeant 5598 Kamara S prosecute the matter.
