At a well-attended Saturday Morning ceremony by stakeholders from all works of life, the Orphanage Technical and Vocational Institute College produced and committed several graduates to the public from different disciplines. This has ensured international recognition for the college. The college is situated at 173 Main Waterloo Highway.
Speaking to this press; the founder and CEO of OCTAV Bishop Hassan Mansaray who doubles as the founder of the Lord’s Mission Church Nation Wide expressed his joy and satisfaction over the progress the college has made so far.
The philanthropist Bishop narrated how OCTAV started in a small room parlour as a center to cater for women who were mostly affected by the war,as a means of empowering them to be self-reliant and independently sustainable.
He said, since its inception the college has so far devoted in its courses to train and produce better Sierra Leoneans every year as a mean of help aimed at targeting global challenges.
He confirmed that most of the graduates have been doing extremely well in their various assignments.
Speaking to the graduate; the Bishop called on them to be role models and be a chosen generation in their path of life. `They are not just only graduates but ambassadors in their various disciplines and so their character and attitude will define their future,` he cautioned.
Meanwhile, special guest from the United States and Leader of the Missionary Spread of Grace Foundation, Pastor Mike Miosi expressed joy to witness such a colourful and wonderful occasion. During his sermon, he pleaded with the graduates to follow the path of Nehemiah. He called on them to represent Sierra Leone well both in and out of the country. As missionaries, he said, they must fully pledge their commitment to Bishop Mansaray whom they consider as a great National Hero and a blessing to many lives.
Spokes Person for the graduates Pastor Alfred Kanu could not hold his tears back. He narrated that the journey was tough but through their commitment, patience and strong faith for the course so far, they are so proud to achieve such a great recognition from all works of life. He closed by thanking his colleagues, lecturers and most especially the proprietor Bishop Mansaray for his steadfastness towards their success.
