The National Youth Service has deployed trainees across the country especially at the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone and other key institutions on Monday March 21st 2022.
The deployment process started immediately after the 21-day orientation training that took place at the Peace Mission Training Centre (PMTC) in the Western Rural District.
Receiving corps members on behalf of the Commission, the Director of Human Resource at Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Tamba Tommy said they felt honoured and pleased, as they are ready to impact the relevant constructs guiding their institution. He welcomed them on behalf of the Commission.
He reminded them that this is a busy period for the Commission adding that they have declared dates for Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Council elections. He revealed they are going to have two bye-elections in Kailahun and Port Loko districts this weekend respectively. “We don’t joke with our code of conduct. We work in an open door system but we expect you to keep our documents secret,” he said.
He informed them that they are not going to be placed at the headquarters because they do not have enough space. Alhaji Tamba Tommy reassured that they are going to be deployed at their various offices across the country. Noting that they are not going to be tied at a specific department, but to maintain a hybrid experience.
