Thirty-one-years-old Sheka Kargbo a Nurse made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on a count of Larceny by Servant Contrary to Section 17 (1) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on 13th July 2024 at Sia Musu Neighbourhood drug store at 5 Momoh drive Juba the western area in Freetown being a servant employed by Sia Musu Neighbourhood drug store stole two cartoons Ciprofloxacine drip and other assorted items equivalent to the total value of forty-six thousand eight hundred Leones (46,800,00) Property of Sia Sumana whilst in custody of Aiah Solomon James.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded not guilty.
Assistant Superintendent of police Sorie Conteh lead Prosecution said the witness number one Aiah Solomon James a pastor and construction worker knew the accused person as a worker at their pharmacy
He recaledl on the 1st to 13th July 2024 on the above date he was at the pharmacy where the accused’s uncle Mohamed informed him that certain items were missing from the pharmacy. Upon that he went to the pharmacy where he observed that some drugs were missing.
The witness said her sister told him that she some of the items with one woman that he could identify if seen. Adding that whiles at the woman’s place, he saw some of the missing items, which the women told him that the accused person sold the drugs to her. The accused confirmed the witness said all the items value 46,800,00. On the following day the accused produced 20,000,00 as the money for the properties he sold. The witness said the accused promised to pay the balance on the following day but he never showed up upon that he reported the matter to the police at Lumley Police Station where statement was obtained from him and his witness.
Counsel representing the accused person C. Kamara Esq cross examined the witness and renewed his previous Bail applications on behalf of the accused person.
Meanwhile Magistrate Bangura granted bail to the accused person in the sum of thirty thousand Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties must be resident herein Freetown to produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown bail to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar Matter adjourned to the 10th December 2024.
