Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura has warned he will dismiss theft charges against Pujehun Government Hospital nurse Sylvester Musa (alias Sylvester Amara, 40) if prosecutors fail to present their witness at the next hearing.

Appearing at Pademba Road Court No. 8, Musa faces two charges: Larceny by Servant (Contrary to Section XVII(i) of the Larceny Act 1916), Fraudulent Conversion of Property (Contrary to Section XX(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act 1916)

Prosecutors allege Musa, as storekeeper at Pujehun Government Hospital, stole 76 cartons and 33 boxes of free healthcare medical drugs on April 26, 2025. Count 2 specifies he fraudulently converted these state-owned medicines for personal benefit.

No plea was taken after charges were read. Prosecutors explained the key witness was testifying in another court that day.

Magistrate Samura remanded Musa to Freetown Male Correctional Centre, adjourning the case to June 25, 2025, with a stern warning: “If the witness isn’t presented next adjournment, I’ll discharge this matter for want of prosecution.”
