NRA Boss Makes History: Raises Nle 394.28 Bn In 9 Days

The develop-minded National Revenue Authority (NRA) Commissioner General of Sierra Leone, Chief Ibrahim Brima Swarray has hit the ground running.

He has set a hard rocky record that would be very difficult to break by his successors.

Just in nine working days since he took up office, the country can now boast of bumpy revenue harvest that could be utilized in delivering social services.

In previous periods such a mile stone could only be hit on a monthly basis. But, with Chief Ibrahim BRIMA Swarray now at the helm of Revenue mobilization for the Nation, from 4th to 16th August within 9 working days, the NRA Boss has raised the sum of (1), Nle-297.4 billions of Domestic Revenue, and (2), Nle-51.88 billions of Property tax revenue totaling Nle-394.28 billion.

 The Commissioner General, Ibrahim Brima Swaray is truly result oriented that is why he has encouraged his staff to working together for result oriented delivery.

 Within the shortest possible time since assuming office, he has already held meetings with members of the Senior Management Team of the National Revenue Authority, with the aim to introduce and familiarise with the institution’s Operations and Support Departments.

The Commissioner General Mr. Swarray no doubt introduced himself as an achiever and one who delivers results in the most obscure of situation and would therefore require results in terms of revenue generation on one hand, and the enhancement of management systems within the Authority on the other hand.

He commended members of the senior management for their contributions towards the work of the institution but was quick to demand more from the group because the Nations survival depended on the NRA.

He concluded by noting that the NRA needs the support of the management team to master the key functions as quick as possible in order to position the institution on the right trajectory.
