Chief Executive Officer of National Public Procurement Authority, Ibrahim Brima Swarray has boosted the Brains of the East Quiz and Debate Competition with a whooping prize of Twenty Million Leones and consignment of school materials held at the Karima Complex in Kenema on the 19th June 2021.
As a committed and patriotic Sierra Leonean, whose love for education had been an elevated workload particularly in promoting President Bio’s flagship program, he started off to empower school going pupils across Kenema, Kailahun and Kono as his first episode.
During his key note address, the NPPA Boss revealed that debate and quiz competition served as an opportunity for pupils to build up their level of confidence and consistently engage in academic research, and as well as to maintain their good performance in their various schools. “The future of this country lies in your hands; there is no way Sierra Leone can grow if you people cannot support our dreams. And the only way you can support us is by joining us that are educated; because if all of us are educated in our country then we will have good resources and that is the resources Sierra Leone needs” he said.
He furthered that the thing which could envelope the Free Quality Education was the quiz and debate competition he organized. He assured pupils and supporters that next year there would be a South and East Quiz and Debate Competition where brains of the East and brains of the South would respectively battle for supremacy; a battle which the foundation paid premium on as step in the right direction to boost education.
Emmanuel K. Musa, winner of the debate competition representing Government Secondary School Kenema said he felt honored and excited for emerging as the Brain of East. He thanked the foundation for mounting such platform for them and he also thanked his school for the support and called on his fellow pupils to take their academic work with brevity as there would be forthcoming opportunities.
Bockarie John Bull, teacher representing twelve year old N’fa Koroma, the winner of the Quiz Competition disclosed that he felt optimistic from the performance of his boy and grateful for such opportunity. He encouraged others to work hard and match up with every opportunity given and to as well follow the foot step of the winner. p`5
